Last week the Year 4s enjoyed 3 days at Naseby camp doing everything from biking, curling, orienteering and visiting awesome places. Check out some of the photos!
WOW Ruma Ruru! You are so lucky to be able to ride a bike to school. Our school is on State Highway 29, and we all have to come to school in cars or by bus. From Room 9, Tauriko School, Tauranga.
Hi Room 9, we on't usually get to bike to school either as we are in the middle of town. Luckily we got to go on school camp where we could ride our bikes lots! From Ruru Class, St Joseph's School, Queenstown.
That was a great camp! I got to come on your last day when you did the Auripo to Lauder part of the Rail Trail. I was so impressed with the children who either could not ride or were still very wobbly before camp but by the time they had had 3 days of riding practice, they were biking like professionals!
Last Friday Anna Gorobets from Gorobets Dance School came to teach us some of The Nutcracker Dance. Anna was a ballerina in the Russian Imperial Ballet so we were very lucky to have her come and teach us!
In Term 2 Ruru and Hoiho collected their waste for 24 hours and sorted it into groups. They discovered that most of the rubbish was glad wrap or other lunch box packaging. They researched ways that they could reduce the amount of waste in their lunch boxes. This week Nicky from Enviro-schools came in to help the children make beeswax wraps . These can be used as a glad wrap alternative and used over and over again.
On the 8th of February we were lucky enough to have a group of students from Tahiti to visit us and perform some songs. Then we showed them around the school and did some activities.
An awesome camp, nice work Year 4's (:
